Epiphone's historic partnership with Les Paul dates back to 1940, when Les constructed one of the world's first solid-body electric guitars—nicknamed "The Log"—during late-night sessions at the original Epiphone factory in Manhattan. This groundbreaking prototype directly inspired the iconic Les Paul™ Standard, widely regarded as the greatest electric guitar of all time.
The Epiphone Les Paul Standard 60s, part of the Inspired by Gibson™ Collection, faithfully recreates the sound, feel, and appearance of early 1960s Les Paul models. It features a classic mahogany body with a maple cap (the Ebony finish is a sleek solid color with no visible flame maple veneer). The mahogany neck has a comfortable 60s SlimTaper™ profile and is topped with a laurel fingerboard featuring pearloid trapezoid inlays and 22 medium jumbo frets.
Premium appointments include reliable Grover® Rotomatic® tuners with kidney buttons and a Graph Tech® nut for excellent tuning stability. At its heart are Epiphone's acclaimed ProBucker™ humbuckers—a ProBucker-2 at the neck for warm, vintage tones and a slightly overwound ProBucker-3 at the bridge for added bite—each with individual volume and tone controls wired to high-quality CTS® potentiometers.
Finished in striking Ebony gloss with nickel hardware, cream pickguard and mounting rings, and gold top-hat knobs, this guitar delivers an authentic Les Paul experience. It includes a premium gig bag and offers legendary tone and playability at an accessible price point.
