Now, Gibson unveils a bold reimagining of this classic with the Les Paul Special featuring a Mini Humbucker and P-90. This model pairs a Gibson mini humbucker in the neck position with a P-90 in the bridge. Sized similarly to a P-90, the mini humbucker fits the same pickup cavity, delivering low-noise humbucking performance with a brighter, more open tone than traditional Patent Applied For humbuckers. This creates a unique sonic blend, merging the P-90’s signature brightness with the warmth of humbuckers, all while eliminating hum. Together, these complementary pickups unlock a versatile range of tones, expanding the Les Paul Special’s sonic palette while staying true to its classic character.
Crafted with premium features, this Les Paul Special boasts a solid mahogany body, a mahogany neck with a substantial 50s Vintage profile, and a bound rosewood fretboard adorned with 22 medium jumbo frets and acrylic dot inlays. Hand-wired with Orange Drop® capacitors, the individual volume and tone controls for each pickup ensure precise tonal shaping. The wraparound bridge enhances sustain, while Vintage Deluxe tuning machines with white buttons and a low-friction Graph Tech nut provide exceptional tuning stability. Encased in a Gibson hardshell case for safe travel, this Les Paul Special with Mini Humbucker and P-90 delivers a distinctive blend of tradition and innovation, offering players an expanded tonal range within the timeless Les Paul family.
